1. Information We Collect
Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and authentication credentials. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from Google.
Profile Information: You may optionally provide your school, program, graduation year, target firms, and interview timeline to personalize your experience.
Usage Data: We collect information about your use of the platform, including case sessions completed, scores, drill results, and progress data. This data is used to provide personalized feedback and track your improvement.
Voice Data: If you use voice input features, your speech is processed by our third-party speech-to-text provider (Deepgram) to convert it to text. We do not store raw audio recordings. The transcribed text is used within your case session and may be included in your session transcript.
Payment Information: If you purchase a subscription, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card details. Stripe provides us with your customer ID and subscription status.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and improve the case interview practice platform
- Generate AI-powered feedback and scoring on your performance
- Track your progress across sessions and dimensions
- Personalize case and drill recommendations
- Communicate with you about your account and platform updates
- Process payments and manage subscriptions
3. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate the platform:
- Supabase: Database and authentication (your account data and session history)
- Anthropic (Claude): AI model provider for case interview simulation and scoring
- Deepgram: Speech-to-text and text-to-speech processing
- Stripe: Payment processing
- Vercel: Website hosting
Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing how they handle your data.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely using Supabase (hosted on AWS). We use row-level security policies to ensure you can only access your own data. Session data may also be cached locally in your browser (localStorage) for offline access and performance.
We implement reasonable security measures to protect your data, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
5. Our AI Methodology
The Case Room is not a generic chatbot. Our AI interviewer and scoring system are built on methodology derived from real consulting interview experience:
- Interview calibration: The AI's behavior — how it asks follow-ups, when it pushes back, how it paces the case — is calibrated based on patterns from hundreds of real MBB interviews conducted and observed by our founder over 5 years at McKinsey.
- Scoring rubric: The 5 scoring dimensions and evaluation criteria mirror the actual scorecards used by trained interviewers at top consulting firms. These were designed from firsthand experience conducting real interviews, not from publicly available prep materials.
- Continuous refinement: We systematically review AI interview transcripts and scoring outputs against expert judgment to improve accuracy. When the AI scores differently than a trained interviewer would, we refine the methodology.
This is fundamentally different from using a general-purpose AI like ChatGPT for case practice. A generic AI has no understanding of how real interviews flow, what interviewers actually score on, or what separates a hire from a rejection. Our system does — because it was built by someone who has been on both sides of the interview table.
Your session transcripts are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) for processing. They are not used to train Anthropic's models. We may use anonymized patterns from sessions (not individual transcripts) to improve our own methodology.
6. Your Rights
You may:
- Access your data through the platform (Your Progress, Case Reviews)
- Delete your session history from the Case Reviews page
- Request a full export or deletion of your account data by emailing us
- Opt out of non-essential communications
7. Cookies
We use essential cookies for authentication (keeping you signed in) and site access (beta access code). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
8. Children
The Case Room is designed for college students and working professionals. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16.
