Every case you complete here is evaluated on four dimensions, calibrated to how a real McKinsey interviewer actually grades. They map to the same capabilities MBB interviewers capture on their evaluation forms, whatever each firm calls them internally.
Each dimension receives one of three assessments: Needs Work, Solid, or Strength. The overall assessment is not an average. A material weakness in one dimension is not erased by a strength somewhere else. Strength overall means every dimension reached at least a solid foundation and one or more dimensions showed genuine strength.
The platform keeps more granular measurements underneath for calibration and progress analysis. Your evaluation leads with the interviewer judgment that matters, then explains the evidence and the behavior to change.
1. Analytical
What it measures: structure. Can you break problems down and drive toward an answer? Your framework quality, knowing WHAT to calculate before calculating, and how you organize everything you touch.
Where it shows up: the framework above all, plus how you set up every piece of math and how you structure your recommendation.
Great looks like: buckets that fit THIS case, case-specific sub-topics, a clear starting point with a why (a priority or a hypothesis, at the start or the end). And later in the case, math setups stated in words before any arithmetic.
To move it: stop practicing frameworks by memorizing them and practice adapting one to a specific company in under two minutes. Ten prompts, framework only, out loud. That drill moves this dimension faster than full cases do.
